About Purdue Northwest Online
Purdue University Northwest is part of the internationally respected Purdue University system. A comprehensive regional university, Purdue Northwest emerged in response to the training and technological demands of World War II. Following the war, Purdue Northwest introduced Purdue credit classes in 1946 as an extension to Purdue's mother campus in West Lafayette. Purdue Northwest has been nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report. The university also offers a gateway to many professional careers including nursing. Purdue Northwest faculty and staff remain engaged in prominent research, expressing the university's commitment to an experience-rich education.
In the fall of 2008, Purdue Northwest became one of the nation's first universities to require experiential learning curricular components for all undergraduate degree-seeking students. With an enrollment of more than 10,100 students ranging in age from 16 to 89, Purdue Northwest helps students integrate their education with a personal plan for success.
